Building Community Together
At Journey School Lynnwood, we believe that raising children is a shared journey best supported by a caring, connected community. We value strong partnerships with our families and honor parents as their children’s first and most important teachers.

Our families’ cultural diversity, unique talents, and willingness to come together make our community vibrant and enriching for everyone. By gathering often, sharing experiences, and supporting one another, we create meaningful connections and joyful memories that help our children—and our families—thrive.

We welcome and encourage family involvement in many forms. Whether you volunteer in a classroom, share a personal passion like gardening, painting, crafting, or baking, help organize school-wide events, or contribute financially to bring special experiences to life, your participation makes a difference. Research shows that children whose families are actively engaged in their school community develop stronger social skills, cultivate a greater love of learning, and experience a deeper sense of belonging and security.

Together, we make Journey School Lynnwood more than just a school—we make it a true school family.

At Journey School Lynnwood, every family is invited to participate, contribute, and feel a sense of belonging. Together, we build a strong, supportive community where all children and families can flourish.

All School Meet Ups
We come together to build friendships and explore our local environment and community. From museums to parks and beaches, these adventures strengthen our bonds and our children’s connection to the world around them.
Parent Nights Out
Our dedicated teachers host special evenings to give parents a well-deserved break and a chance to recharge, because caring for parents helps us care for children too.

Take Home Meals
Through JSL’s very own Harvest Kitchen, we share the culinary delights of each season, providing families with wholesome meals to enjoy together at home.

Fall Festival
Our annual Fall Festival, held each October, is a beloved Journey School Lynnwood tradition that celebrates the magic of autumn and the joy of coming together as a school family. Children and families enjoy getting dressed up in costumes, decorating car trunks for Trunk or Treat, making seasonal crafts, playing outdoor games, enjoying cozy treats, and having plenty of opportunities to connect and make memories.
The Fall Festival is all about community—bringing us together to laugh, play, and welcome the season in a spirit of togetherness. It’s one of the many ways we nurture friendships and create joyful experiences for our children and families throughout the year.

Garden Day
Each year, our entire Journey School Lynnwood community gathers for Garden Day—a special day dedicated to caring for and enhancing the beautiful outdoor spaces where our children learn, play, and explore. Families, children, and staff roll up their sleeves to weed, plant, build, clean, and create new natural learning areas that inspire wonder and connection with nature all year long.
Garden Day is a wonderful way to spend time outdoors, work side by side with other families, and show our children the value of stewardship and teamwork.

Supporting Local Community
Throughout the year, Journey School Lynnwood partners with local organizations and community initiatives that reflect our values of stewardship, compassion, and service. Families are invited to participate in and support these efforts, modeling for our children the importance of caring for others and giving back.

Parent Ambassodor Program
Each classroom has two to four parent ambassadors who help new families feel welcome and connected. They also coordinate classroom communication, organize events, and support teachers and families throughout the year.
Annual Art Auction & Spring Carnival
Our Annual Spring Carnival & Art Auction is Journey School Lynnwood’s biggest fundraising event of the year—and a joyful celebration of our vibrant community! Each spring, families, friends, and neighbors come together to enjoy a fun-filled day of carnival games, activities, food, and entertainment, while also bidding on beautiful children’s artwork and exciting auction items.
Proceeds from this special day directly support important school and playground improvements, helping us create safe, engaging, and inspiring spaces for our children to learn and grow.
